DS cam App Reviews

First of all, this is not a free app. For every camera beyond the first two, I have to pay $50 to use it with this app. Also, since the steaming is in local network, I assume it should be smoother than Dropcam which is over Internet - not close to the actual case. I have configured the camera to stream at 640x480@10fps to mobile devices which is super low quality, but the actual FPS is just about 1 frame per second. There’s about 3~5 seconds delay of video stream and 5~10 seconds delay of camera controlling. It’s just a shame that this costly solution over local network doesn’t work as well as Dropcam which is free live streaming over Internet.

This works after updates 50% of the time. It is ill conceived as well. If the Chinese are such good copiers then copy something with slick, intuitive interface. Oh, and make it work!!! From now on, no more updating until I read reviews! Update 10/29/2015 new DSM and Surveillance Station software have screwed the pooch again. Spinning discs with no picture!

All I get is a black screen with a loading symbol when I try to view my cameras live view. Upgrading the camera firmware did nothing. I never had this problem until recently.

Some simple features such as geofencing could dramatically increase the functionality of the application for the home security user. Very disappointed with the application and what it could be.

It wont let you view cameras on iOS devices. Do you guys test before you release? It seems if you had this wouldnt have happened.

I notified Synology months ago that an update they pushed out broke several of my cameras. after months of back and forth they told me all my issues would be fixed in the next release. Just today I updated to the newest release and it is even worse. Now I can only access one of my four cameras.

This is a great application that I use daily to review my cameras. Latest version wont show live view of cameras. Recordings are fine and the thumbnails display correctly but the live views just give the loading symbol.

Just like everybody else, something changed recently and I cant view the live feed from any of my cameras. The preview shows fine but I get the black screen with the spinning wheel when I try to open a camera.

How they havent released a fix for this long is beyond me. Like others, totally black spinning screen when viewing all 5 of my HIKVision cameras. SurveillanceStation in a browser works fine.

Same as everybody else. SInce upgrading my cams dont show up anymore. Just black screen with spinning icon. Please fix!

This app was working like a charm before and now all my live streams stopped viewing after recent update. All cams are now showing pitch black. Please fix.

I have both V2 and V2.1. V2 work perfectly in this version of DS Cam but not for FOSCAM FI9821W V2.1

After the latest update, my video feed no longer streams. Im not sure who Synology has testing the software, but a band of drunk monkeys could do a better job.

Last update broke notifications. Please fix. Still receiving emails.

I have two Foscams neither of which work with live view. I get an unknown error message about a trusted certificate. Had no problems before latest update.

It stopped working again, then I tried HTTPS login, which worked. Is this fix stable only on https?

I can only see thumbnail images. Once clicked the video stream in black and no sound. This is the same for all six cameras those with or without h.264 support. App is virtually useless!!!

Does not work after update. No more live view. Please fix ASAP as I see everyone having the same issue

Worked for years with no problem. Current version will not stream video. Please restore previous version or fix.
